Kenneth Branagh has produced a film adaption of Mozart's opera The Magic Flute. I have not seen the opera or the film but I've checked the website out, it is interesting in that there are some differnt touches to it, I like the bit with the three ladies because when you play one it seems the other two listen to her. I would suggest a visit to see what you think. The Magic Flute

Really like the site, very interactive, at first with the opening page how they have the gic and u look like a face, at first i thought the i and u looked like a mouth playing the flute but then saw the face dont think this is necessarily intentioanl but still. When you get into the site its like a little adventure with bits and bobs being hidden not laid out on a page like it usually is. I tried a pair game and when i completed it was rewarded with some storyboard information, an exciting site to visit, visually and for exploring. Giving new ideas of how you can play with websites and how much you do for the viewer.
For me, this site emphasized how digital media outcomes can encourage engagement and generate interest in something that is perhaps not mainstream or well-known. An opera isnt something you'd expect to find an interactive site about, and even though it is linked to a film adaption, it is clearly reflective of the original piece. Without even exploring the site, I found the initial visual representation of the structure of the opera successful in engaging the audience and it quickly allows the user to understand the structure of an opera. By using this as the site's navigational structure to the interviews, clips, games etc related to the film adaption, the site has made that all important link between the opera itself and the film adaption whilst hopefully being able to engage a much wider audience than the opera would, generating some new interest in this area of the arts
I like it.
love it! the examples of postcards from the 20th century are a nice touch.
