i found the majority of those images would definitely not make me want to stop smoking. Just showing a picture of a massive pile of fag butts with the word die/death/end/bye etc etc etc is never really going to make anyone stop. As a smoker i tend to see a fair few fags butts every day, so just seeing a load bunched together is hardly alarming.
However, the recent one with the bunged up arteries and the gunge coming out of the cigarette was effective.
Watched the second episode (series 1) of My Name is Earl. It's titled "Quit Smoking".
To sum the concept of the series up, petty criminal Earl has to right his wrongs in order to achieve karma.
Having caused the unjust incarceration of a woman's much loved son, in this episode Earl must find a way to give her those 2 years (that she lost her sons company) back.
He helps her quit smoking with the hope that she'll live 2 years longer.
I agree that it would't neccessarily make you want to quit, it was more interesting to see how different users interpretted their addictions and desires to quit in a creative way.
some of the images were so much stonger than others! i thought the ismoke Mexican one was particularly poor! It would only appeal to a really limited audience ,and even then i'm not sure it would actually have a lasting effect!
Some images do work definitely better than others but I personally think you would need to be harder hitting on the terms of health effects to get people to stop quitting. The new packaging being put on cigarette packets would be much more effective than any of these.
Some nice ideas, it would probably get people thinking about quitting but Im not sure it would genuinely lead to people quitting, but most campaigns struggle to do that anyway
Nice post! Smoking is one of the powerful addictions, which can lead to death. Small percentage of reduction in smoking is beneficial for the health. Even with the well-known heart, blood pressure, and cancer risks can be avoid by quitting smoking as early as possible. Many smokers try to quit smoking but they are so much addicted to it they fails to quit smoking. buy generic viagra online

I liked that.

A selection of nice effective photography by some categorizing they're own experiences but thats as far as it goes, its not going to help people quit.
some of these images are really powerful... theres a really nice line of copy below one of the images that reads
"kill smoking"
- i think that this reversal of words is really simple and clever because it focuses on the action of quiting as opposed to the affects of continuing.
It's more positive and puts the smoker in control. This discussion is beginning to conjure up feelings of the 'turn a negative into a positive' brief!
